We recently caught up with Teresa Gregory, our Sales Office Manager and one of our longest serving team members at Interlock Adhesives, to learn more about her role. As one of the longest-serving members of the team, Teresa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Interlock Adhesives. Her deep expertise spans the full range of adhesive solutions and markets — from food production to ecommerce. When it comes to adhesives, Teresa has seen it all!
Can you tell us how long you’ve been with Interlock Adhesives and share a bit about your current role within the company?
This coming October I will have been with Interlock for 14 years. I initially started in a general office support role, but soon transitioned into sales, where I’ve enjoyed exploring different areas of the business. My role is very varied, in addition to my sales responsibilities, I also manage the warehouse, and I’m ready to get my hands dirty handling loading and unloading of vehicles if needed! I like the variety of the role – no two days are the same.
Interlock has introduced several sustainable hotmelt adhesive initiatives—do you have a favourite, and what makes it stand out to you?
My favourite must be Technomelt Supra 100 Cool – it’s versatile, high quality, and runs smoothly under pressure… just like me! The low application temperature of 100°C was first to market and continues to outperform others attempts to copy!
Customer care and aftersales are a key part of your responsibilities at Interlock Adhesives. In your opinion, what’s the secret to building and maintaining strong relationships with customers?
I think the secret to building and maintaining strong customer relationships is consistency, genuine communication, and delivering on your promises. It’s about listening more than talking, being reliable, and showing that you care—not just about the sale, but about the customers long-term success. I’ve really enjoyed working with our customers and seeing them grow.
Interlock launched the innovative Technomelt Supra 079 Eco Cool adhesive back in October. Could you tell us more about this market-leading product and what sets it apart?
Technomelt Supra 079 Eco Cool is a cutting-edge hotmelt adhesive from that sets a new standard for sustainable packaging solutions. Combining 49% directly bio-based raw materials with 30% ISCC-certified mass-balanced content, it offers a significant reduction in environmental impact. This innovative adhesive operates at temperatures up to 40°C lower than conventional hot melts – meaning a fantastic energy saving and increased operator safety!
Looking ahead, what trends or innovations do you think will shape the adhesives industry over the next year?
With growing pressure to meet environmental regulations, the shift toward greener solutions is only gaining momentum—and I believe it’s a trend we’ll see continue to rise.
Outside of work, how do you like to spend your free time?
I enjoy walking, cycling, yoga and spending time with my family. The Lake District is one of our favourite places to visit, it takes my breath away everytime. I’m lucky to live in a lovely cottage in the countryside and love spending time outdoors in the garden – it’s so peaceful just watching the deer jump around the fields!
If you could invent any type of adhesive, what would it be and why?
If I could invent any type of adhesive, it would be a “programmable adhesive” — a smart material that can change its bonding strength and characteristics (e.g., tackiness, flexibility, thermal resistance) in response to external signals like heat, light or electricity.
